I have been working on several projects that involve using a cut-out of my daughter's sweet little hand. Here's something we made to give her dad for Valentine's Day to hang by his desk in our office. (You may remember that this Anna Griffin paper matches the paper and fabric used on my side of the office). Here's what we did. We traced the sweet little hand on some heavy, dense cardboard. You want something fairly stiff since you'll be using it for a pattern.
Use a little bit of tacky glue (rub it in with your finger or use a sponge brush) to adhere the hands onto a 12 x 12 page of scrapbook paper.
I framed the finished project in an album frame -- they are often on sale at Michael's for about $5.

I love this idea, Ashlee! I wonder if you could do this with fabric appliques on a quilt! Ohh, I might try that!
Anne -- I was planning on putting some hands on little towels for the grandmothers for Mother's Day. Another idea I have in the pipeline: photocopying paper cut-outs onto shrink sheets and making a bunch of little hand charms.
Oh that is so cute and would be great for Mother's Day! Thanks so much for sharing the how-to, I'll be linking.
so adorable, Ashlee!
