On the way to the beach in Florida, we stayed in a fabulous hotel, the W New Orleans. The lobby/bar/library area is a destination unto itself. It is impossibly chic, yet somehow really comfortable too. There's a lot to look at and like: juxtaposition of light and dark, the splashes of red, the soft upholstery next to large metal and glass installations and, best of all, the underlying water theme. Even my 17-month-old ooh'ed and aah'ed.
