Nurturing Kids' Creativity

Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen?! A boy and girl, probably about 10 or 11 years old, created this awesome "Sweet Shack" (written in the sand, below) on the playground by my sister's house. They made lots of little sweets by hand, with no tools or molds or anything. Each one was perfectly decorated with a little flower or petal or berries. It was so sweet and innocent and perfect that I wanted to cry. Instead we went to Publix and got some petit fours!

Look at the perfect heart shape!

This was a good reminder for me of the importance of encouraging my little girl to be creative instead of always following the rules.

It is really too bad you don't know who the children were! How wonderful they would feel to have copies of the photos you took. What if they are budding pastry chefs and this is a moment to look back at? What if they are future artists with a knack for color and mixed media?

How wonderful that you thought to take the pictures. Although made of sand, and maybe because they are made of sand, truly inspiring.

How clever. Probably little foodies in the making.

Your doll house is looking really nice. I like the soft colors.

This is fabulous and I enjoyed seeing it more than anything made and styled by the best food stylist! What a wonderful bit of childhood you caught!

That is so amazing (the detail is so sweet)! I think someone has a little baker in them!
